In The Making: Aorta
One of three shows by IADT Degree Year Art
students held at Pallas Projects Studios.
We held a invited response to our show with Mark O'Gorman (The Complex) where he responded to the exhibition in conversation with each of us. This response was open to the public.
The artists exhibiting in this show were Ross Bradley, Vanda Brown, Laura Clarke, Ellen Clifford, Lorraine Ene, Paola Iacovone, Hannah Jones, Michelle McGeown, Blaithin Ring, Ella Sexton, Moya Woods.
Aorta brings together many different visions of the organic world, ranging from the scientific to the fantastical. Through media that include turf, bones, ceramics, print, photography, painting, video and large-scale sculpture, the artists in Aorta articulate a fascination with organic life that is observed directly, imagined or even invented. Their works include joyful floral compositions, images of microscopic creatures, studies of coastal environments and explorations of land use, highlighting the tensions between cultural traditions and the demands of sustainability.
Catalyst Collaborative - 13th-15th Jan 2023
From November 2022 to January 2023 myself and five other artists organised a group exhibition with Diva Dun Laoghaire. We named our collaborative 'Catalyst Collaborative' The theme was 'Memories Exist Outside of Time'.
The exhibition ran from January 13th - 15th 2023
The artists exhibiting were Caoimhe Farrell, Ella Sexton, Ellen Clifford, Eilis Mcloughlin, Iza Jane Geraghty and Jennifer Reynolds.
